  • Once the lid is closed the assembly is complete.
  • Close the lid applying some pressure on the tabs.
  • Place the lid on the casing aligning the three small tabs with the corresponding slots.
  • Insert the AirTag in the casing, with the shiny chrome part going through the bottom opening of the casing.
  • This locks the pieces of filament and the petals in position. When placed correctly, it should sit below the level of the three small slots in the casing. In some cases, it might bind against the tips of the filament pieces, but you should be able to bend it to slide it all the way in.
  • Remove the brim from the inner ring and slide it into place.
  • If you don't have a flush cutter, you can cut three filament snips about 2.5 mm long and then insert them with some tweezers.

Try to leave it almost flush with the inner surface of the casing.

  • Using a flush cutter, cut the filament while the tip is still inserted.
  • Make sure it goes all the way in, so their tip stops against the petals.
  • Insert the flat end of the filament piece in the small holes from the center of the casing.
  • The outer ring has a small lip that will stop the petals from sliding when they reach the correct height, you just have to rotate the two parts to align the holes. There are three small holes around the petals and another set of holes in the casing.
  • Slide the petals into place, with the flat part facing down.
  • Place the casing on a flat surface with the larger opening facing down.
  • Cut one end squared (a straight, flat cut, not the usual 45° you would use to insert the filament in the extruder gear). The ones in the pictures are the “short” petals.Īdditionally, you will need a small piece of ⌀ 1.75 mm filament.
  • Petals: they are locked in place around the casing (follow the instructions below) and serve as a holding point to attach a cord or keychain.
  • Lid: it closes the casing, holding the AirTag into place.
  • We also suggest you use a 1 mm width brim around it for better stability. This part must be printed using the “Detect thin walls” option, or equivalent in your slicer.
  • Inner ring: a thin ring used as part of the locking mechanism for the petals.

  • Casing: this is the central part, the thick ring with a partially-closed wall on one side.
  • It also has a small hole so you can use it with a cord or keychain. Also, when you ping your AirTag no sound is blocked by the print. We designed it so that both the front and back have openings so you can still replace the AirTag's battery without disassembling the print. This holder with the shape of a sunflower is a cute way to use your Apple AirTag!
